  专四考前作文押题 1

With the advent of information technology, the traditional media are pushed to the corner and are struggling to survive. Surprisingly, not all people are hailing the birth of online version news. Some people believe that traditional printed newspaper is irreplaceable since a large number of people still have no access to the Internet. However, others believe that the demise of printed version is at hand. Being faster and more convenient, cell phones and personal computers have led us to a paper-free lifestyle.

As far as I am concerned, it is irresistible that the printed newspaper will demise while the online newspaper will prosper. As the modern life picks up speed, news is reported at every turn. News is no longer new when printed on paper. While the printing process of traditional newspaper takes hours, and its distribution may take even longer time, the electronic transmission of news on the Internet may only take a couple of seconds, even including videos and audios. Besides, young people, the largest number of consumers, prefer to read news via cell phone or laptop. By these devices, users can share and comment on the news, which enables them to enrich their knowledge and mind in a short time.

In conclusion, I firmly hold the idea that the online newspaper will dominate the market in the future and the printed newspaper will be displayed in the museum representing a period of history.

With the globalization of modern technology, especially the world-wide access to Internet service, people’s lifestyle has been greatly influenced. Some enjoy indoorsy lifestyle. They hold that indoorsy lifestyle is time-saving and peaceful. In contrast, those against the idea claim that keep an indoorsy lifestyle will do harm to people both psychologically and physically.

As far as I am concerned, modern technology is a double-edged sword. If we consider it as a useful tool to improve our life, it will certainly bring unprecedented convenience to us. With the assistance of the Internet, one can save his time through working, shopping, or communicating with others at home. Also, solitude isn’t always equal to loneliness. Free from outside interruption, one can be creative and keep his mind sharp. On the other hand, too much reliance on or indulgence in the Internet will certainly have an impact on our normal life and work. For instance, indulging in social network online may corrode peoples’ social skills. To be specific, they may feel lost when talking with people face-to-face, which may affect their normal relationship with family members and friends. What’s worse, sitting in front of a computer all day long means little outdoor activities, which may damage one’s health.

In conclusion, while enjoying all the benefits the virtual world has brought to us, indoorsy people should also step out of their home and engage themselves in the real world.

Nowadays more and more parents are eager to send their children to study abroad before they finish high school by whatever means and at whatever cost.

It is quite understandable for parents to send their children to study overseas because they place high expectations on their children. They are encouraged by the success stories of those who have completed their overseas study. With the development of economy, companies and institutions at home are giving more and more emphasis on overseas experiences, too. Consequently, pursuing overseas study became a kind of short cut in gaining a better future. Moreover, there is still one underlying reason for this rush-economic reason. The rapid economic progress in the past few years in China has enabled more and more parents to afford the huge cost for their children’s overseas study.

As for me, overseas study is surely a helpful way to get both advanced knowledge and necessary experiences, but overseas study at an early age is neither necessary nor benef1cial. The students may be too young to either tend for themselves or think for themselves. I do think that overseas study can contribute to one’s self-improvement, but it’s better to be pursued after one has finished his college study at home, when he is more capable of learning and living on his own.

On the Celebrity SpokespersonCurrently, we could hardly live a single day without seeing a celebrity spokesperson promoting a product or a social campaign on TV, net or other media. This is an intensely popular trend that we cannot fail to notice.

There is no doubt that the celebrity spokespeople could boost the sale of a product. A host of celebrity spokespersons, however, have emerged as the marketing tool of some companies, even companies producing and selling fake and inferior items. This kind of behavior has produced negative impacts on consumers and whole society, which should be severely criticized and penalized. Of course, as is known to all, everything has both bright and dark sides. Some stars endorsement of social activities and public campaigns raises public awareness, giving rise to changes in public behavior. In this case, they serve as positive role models of the general public. To name only one case: Pu CX, a household figure, acting as the celebrity spokesman of the China AIDS Foundation, contributes greatly to the cause of AIDS prevention and cure in China.

Should cars be allowed into College Campus?

With the rapid development of our national economy, private cars have become in large number; of course, quite a few cars are heavily driven into College Campus.

In a significant way, these cars do not take up students places for study, but actually affect their daily life and study-- for instance, this crowd of cars may make noise and emit filthy gas to choke us to death. And the campus is jammed with lines of cars and seems to be parking lot instead of an academic institute. So cars have been strictly prohibited into many College Campuses. It seems that this is not convenience to some persons, indeed, but this is for the sake of our safety. Thus when someone enjoys convenience from modern tools, dont forget that it is dangerous to the students in the College Campus. Therefore, I agree that cars are not allowed into College Campus.

By and large, with the price of cars falling significantly, cars will enter average families, and most Chinese will enjoy a luxurious lifestyle in their life. However, they are still prohibited to drive their cars into College Campus, which , I think, is a hard truth in the eyes of most people.

Keep Square Clean, Tidy On Sunday, still on display on Tian anmen Square were dozens of floats that were paraded along Chang an Avenue during the National Day celebrations.

Thousands of people strolled on the narrow lanes be- tween the floats that fragmented the square, busily taking photos. Not far from the noisy crowds, yellow leaves fell nonchalantly from locust trees along the driveway, sending out the first signals of 6 the coming autumn. But even if all the leaves fall, they still cannot cover the brown and black spots on the whitish stones in the huge square.

Such stains of chewing gum, stale oil or some worse blemish have remained a constant pain for city cleaners since the square was re- opened a few months ago after renovations to celebrate the 50th anni- versary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China. Few renovation project planners likely foresee this discouraging outcome. Originally, they merely intended to give the city a face- lift. The square was indeed impeccable when new: The-white terrazzo surface not only looks clean but it was made with materials that help prevent it from becoming slippery. However, as time goes by, the virtue becomes the vice: the 7 sur-face attracts and accentuates dirt. As a result, China s most high - profile site has to suffer the indignity of being paraded daily before the public in a humiliation state.

While the tourists who litter should bear the bulk of the blame, the renovation designers should also have learned something: including the squares sanitary maintenance issue into their consideration.

World Pupulation Control With its outstanding achievements in halting the population explo- sion, China won high praise from United Nations experts.

China has had the most successful family planning policy in the history of man- kind in terms of quantity, and with that China has done mankind a fa- vor. Having made such a great contribution to mankind, China de- serves the honor.

In November 1999, our planet received its 6 billionth baby. But the day might have come at least three years ago if China had not im- plemented its family planning policy. Un figures indicate 12 that the world population has doubled in the past 40 years, and 1 billion were added in the past 12 years, the shortest amount of time ever to witness a billion births. The expanding population is imposing heavy pressure on the en- vironment and resources. It has also caused continuing poverty in fast growing areas.

Curbing the rapid population growth is a tough task the whole world is facing, not just one or two countries. With a reslSonsible attitude towards its people and the world, Chi- na was among the earliest to input great manpower and money in car- rying out a family planning policy. A wordwide population stabiliztion scheme would cost some US $ 17 billion each year.

The rich coun- tries, however, are falling short in meeting the financial 13 promises made at the Cairo Population Conference in 1994, leaving most of the population stabilization cost with the poorer nations.

New Beijing, Great Olympics. The 2008 Olympic Game has been the most discussed and antici- pated event throughout Beijing ever since Beijing bid for it years ago, yet the focus has shifted from making.a promise to making good a promise after Beijings successful bid. In my opinion, to bridge the gap between promise and reality, Beijing still has a long way to go.

To begin with, infrastructure construction should be the primary concern. Such infrastructures as communications and. transportation system and facilities ought to require our constant 10 attention. First, traffic jam has been an age- old headache in Beijing. The scene of long queues of vehicles worming their way inch by inch while discharging dark fumes into the air will surely cause great inconvience to athletes and journalists, and blemish the city s image. Next, to add enchantment to convenience, and overall city - plan- ning is indispensable.

If time permits, a redesign of city layout and ad- justment of architectual style would provide a better environment for fostering the characteristic, blending, oriental elegance with interna- tional grandear, will tower aloft among surrounding architectures. To achieve such effect, Beijing shall solicit opinions from first- rate archi- tects and make an overall plan. However, Rome was not built in a day.

To make good the 11 prom-ise of "New Beijing, Great Olympics" ,deeds speak louder than words.

In recent years, it is very popular to rank majors. Major ranking lists based on a variety of criteria can be found on some educational websites or newspapers. These lists have great influence on students and many of them have come to rely on these lists to make their major-choice decisions.

To this phenomenon, peoples opinions vary from each other. Some think that the results of the ranking are helpful for high school students to choose a major field of study, e.g., some lists tell people what majors will lead to decent jobs after graduation. Some people, however, believe that many lists are actually useless. Rankings are only about numbers and they do not tell you anything about the distinct nature of the major. Besides, some majors may be listed as hot majors when students enter colleges, but will be unpopular when they graduate.

As far as Im concerned, we should not over-stress major ranking. It should be remembered that rankings can play a big role in the selection of a major but it should not be the only criterion. Many factors including your own perception of the major should matter in your final choice.

From this cartoon, we can see that at the top end of the river, is a chemical factory and a paperrnaking factory which send out 4 and poisonous wastes.

And the river has been seriously polluted, n be seen from the color of it. Along this "black" river, there are a few people selling fresh water which must have been taken from far away places. At the first glance, it is very strange to us how can people sell wa- ter along the river, but this is the case, because the water in this river is undrinkable.

This presents a serious social problem--environmental pollution. With the development of economy, our living standards have been greatly improved. But we can t ignore the fact the air we take in and the water we drink today are not as fresh and clean as they used to be. Some kinds of pollution can even be deadly to people. It is high time that we took some measures to solve the problem. 5 I think we can first call peoples attention to this problem so that they will be aware of the serious consequences of it.

Then,we can pass certain laws to restrain the factories from sending out wastes. Finally, we can do more resarch work to find out ways to deal with the wastes.
