An Analysis of Alice Walker’s Spiritual World in The Color Purple
Abstract
Alice Walker is one of the most influential contemporary American black writers. The Color Purple is the international best-selling novel. Alice Walker creates “womanism”, and it’s the core of her spiritual world, womanism unifies anti-sexism and anti-racialism. It vocatives awakening the self consciousness of the black woman, and cultivates their self esteem and confidence. In the thesis, it analyses the growth of Celie’s spiritual world: from a passive battered female grows to a confident and liberated black woman, its also embodies Alice Walker’s spiritual world. Last, it analyses the changing of epistolary form and the content of Celie’s letters, which imply Celie’s journey from mental numbness, then to awakening, finally to self-independence. Therefore, the essence of Alice Walker’s womanism is to realize the harmony and union of men and women.

摘 要
艾丽丝•沃克是当代极赋影响力的美国黑人作家。《紫色》是国际最畅销的小说，艾丽丝•沃克创造了“妇女主义”，妇女主义也是她的精神世界的核心。妇女主义是反性别主义和反种族意识的统1。它呼唤黑人妇女自我意识的觉醒，树立黑人妇女的自尊自信。分析文中茜莉的精神成长过程,茜莉从1个消极的,受压迫的妇女成长成自信的,解放的黑人女性,实际这1转变也体现艾丽丝•沃克的精神世界。最后,分析小说的书信的身份的转变和书信内容，这些暗示着茜莉的女性意识从麻木、觉醒到自立的过程。因此，艾丽丝•沃克妇女主义实质是实现男性和女性社会的和谐和统1。
