Executive Assistant
The Canada China Business Council (CCBC) is the country’s Canada-China bilateral trade and investment facilitator, catalyst and advocate. Founded in 1978 as a private, not-for-profit business association, CCBC provides unparalleled insight into Sino-Canadian trade and investment issues and develops connections that ensure its members’ business success. In addition to its focused and practical services, the Council is also the voice of the Canadian business community on issues affecting Sino-Canadian trade and investment.
With offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, the CCBC works with members including some of the largest and best-known Canadian and Chinese firms, as well as small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, and not-for-profit organizations. They represent a wide range of sectors, including financial services, legal services, manufacturing, construction, transportation, mining and energy, information and communications technology, retail and education.
Position Description:
The CCBC is currently seeking an Administrative Assistance to work with the management of our office in Shanghai. Reporting to the Chapter Director of the CCBC in Shanghai, this position will be responsible for helping to coordinate member services, support events, process administrative duties, translations and communication needs. The role will be helping with not only our Shanghai operations, but also needs that may arise for events and projects in China.
Main Duties:
•General office administration and coordination
•Sourcing local service providers for events or CCBC member requests
•Assist in promotional activities for events and projects in South China Region
•Researching local Chinese companies
•Bookkeeping and tracking expenses for the office
•Interface with company executives and other guests in person, over telephone or by email in both English and Chinese languages
•Assistant to management in various capacities as required
Requirements:
•1-2 years’ experience in related fields is preferred
•Fluency in English is required (CET 6), will be necessary to communicate professionally in English through emails with our Canadian team
•Native level mandarin language skills
•Excellent ability to multi-task accompanied by a spirit of flexibility, positive outlook, and customer-service ethic
•Self-driven and passionate about tasks at hand
•Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
•Team player, reliable and detail-oriented
•Knowledge of Canada is an asset
