Today, I'm going to tell you how to write a killer cover letter (求职信) in English. By the way, "killer" doesn't mean dangerous - it means fantastic, so fantastic that it will kill the rest of the competition
The secret to writing a killer cover letter is to answer all of the selection criteria (选择标准) listed in the job advertisement (招聘广告)
Try to copy their language as much as possible!
尽量模仿他们所用的语言!
You can apply the same ideas to other application letters (申请信): for example, when applying to a school, or applying for a scholarship (奖学金)
For example, let's imagine this is the job ad:
First, make a note of all the important selection criteria (I've underlined the keywords for you).
Next, describe how your skills (技巧), experience (经验) and personality (性格) match these criteria!
It's that simple!
Of course, there are some good expressions you can use and layout (排版) is also important - make sure your cover letter is easy to read and all the key information is highlighted (强调了).
