Some people argue that they would have more choices if the number of TV channels increases, but some would think that it would lead to poor TV programs. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is debated that although the number of TV channels is on the rise, the quality of their programs deteriorates. In the essay, both positive and negative sides of the phenomenon will be expounded.
On the one hand, a wider range of TV channels means varieties and specialties. For audience, children, youngsters, adults and seniors can choose the channels according to their own will, such as cartoon, sports, series and news channels. They do not have to sacrifice their time on programs that they do actually favor. Besides, for each TV channel, program producers can focus on one particular field elaborately rather than cover all areas roughly. Therefore, there will be romance, war, and detective films broadcast in one channel throughout the day rather than just one column of film limited in one particular hour.
On the other hand, more channels might trigger problems. One most prominent defect is that under if a corporation is in charge of just one channel, the company could invest all its money on a dozen of programs. In contrast, if the limited budget is distributed to several channels, thus several dozens of programs, then the quality must be influenced negatively. What is more, more channels may cause conflicts between families as to stay on which one eventually. If family members just watch the channel they themselves like, then there will be more TVs but less common topics and looser relationship bonds.
In conclusion, more options of channels can both be a blessing thanks to program diversification and refinement and be a curse in terms of finance and relationships. In my view, advantages of choices override disadvantages because money can be earned from the audience, the government and commercial companies while family bonds can maintained in other ways.

When it comes to the possible consequence of an increasing number of TV channels, some people argue that viewers could have more options, but others believe that the quality of TV programs may be degraded.
On one hand, a larger quantity of TV channels could bring audiences more choices and make television more attractive. When there exists a limited number of TV channels, inevitably, viewers may be tired of some programs, especially programs that only focus on political issues, and some audiences may not regard television as a form of recreation. However, providing that more channels are available for citizens, such as channels concerning about tourism, movies and documentary, different viewers could find what they are interested in through television. Then, it may be a win-win situation since television could gain popularity again and viewers could take sufficient recreation or acquire more information.
On the other hand, poor TV programs may arise from a rising quantity of TV broadcast stations. It is acknowledged that the number of qualified producers for TV programs are limited. When a new channel runs, there may not be excellent producers and directors who are potent to guarantee content of TV programs. Therefore, a dilemma caused by a booming number of TV stations is TV programs may be produced in emergency, and the content of those programs may just be a duplication of other programs.
From my own perspective, there is a necessity of increasing the number of TV programs in order to meet demands of viewers, but governments need to better supervise behavior of TV stations. For example, some inappropriate content, such as violence and drugs, may attract some audiences’ attention; however, such content cannot be the mainstream of TV programs, especially considering its potential detriments on adolescents and children.

The production of TV programs requires time, fund and personnel, but every year，the fund invested in the production of programs is limited.Also，the number of specialists qualified for TV production is unlikely to meet the increasing demand of TV industry. Under such circumstances, it difficult to control the quality of TV programs and some poorly-produced programs may be broadcasted.
In my opinion, more TV channels means more competition between TV stations, which would motivate them to improve the the quality of their programs for the purpose of increasing audience ratings Although some poor quality programs may be produced for some reasons, this trend can promote the development of TV industry in the long term.
