试论英语句子内容导向的原则

摘要：在跨文化交际日益繁荣的今天，传统的以形式为导向的英语句子已经无法适应实际需要；而以其内容为导向却越来越受到人们的重视，因为这类句子更具美感，更有利于思想的交流。毋庸置疑：句子内容导向的原则也引起了业类人士的关注。

Abstract： With the increasing of multi-culture communication， the traditional form-oriented sentences can not satisfy the practical need， while the content-oriented ones are being paid more attention to because of the beauty and the likeliness of thought exchange. It is not doubtful that such kind of sentences also hold the professionals’ eyes.

每1个英语句子都涉及到内容和形式两个方面。传统的写作重视其形式，即：句子的种类、句型、语序等等，这类句子优势在于结构的正确性，但其不足之处却是表达单调乏味，缺乏美感。在跨文化交际日益繁荣的今天，越来越多的写作更加关注句子的内容导向，即：句子的简洁、连贯、美化等等，其原因是内容导向更能传递作者的观点，有助于段落和文章的写作。那么句子的内容导向有什么原则可循呢？在此，笔者将通过正误实例的比较、分析或说明等，探讨几个基本原则。

1 句子的统1原则(Unity)

1个句子是通过1些词语来表达1个完整思想的。它分为主题思想( the main idea)和支持思想( the supporting idea)两部分，其中的主题思想必须是唯1的，支持思想必须与之紧密相关，这是1个完整句子的第1要素，即：统1原则。1个句子无论简单还是复杂，只能表达1个完整的意思，也就是说：句子大意必须1致，支持思想必须紧扣主题思想，不能包含不相关的或表达不完整的意思。这1原则有如下三个内涵：

1.1 主题思想的唯1性

Faulty: English is difficult to learn and to become proficient we must use it often.

Revised: English is difficult to learn and no one can learn it well without efforts.

分析：错误句子中，两个并列部分“to learn” 和“to become proficient”所表达的意思不1致，违背了主题思想的唯1性。

1.2 句意的完整性

Faulty: Tatanic is one of the most exciting films.

Revised: Tatanic is one of the most exciting films I have ever seen.

分析：句子的错误是所表达的意思不够完整，缺少必要的修饰成分（支持思想）。加上“I have ever seen”后，句子的意思表达就清楚且完整了。

1.3 思想的相关性

Faulty: Giving birth to a child， I found another job.

Revised: After giving birth to a child， I found another job.
