On Translation of Tourist Guide
Abstract
In tourism, tourist guide is used to give tourists some information such as the history, environment, background and transportation of a tourist item, which serves as a bridge between the tourist item and the visitors. Especially to those foreign visitors who are unfamiliar with our culture, it seems to be more important for they intend to acquaint themselves with the tourist item only by the tourist guide. This thesis will mainly study the characteristics of the translation of tourist guide. The translation of the main body should firstly be faithful to the original to keep the cultural characteristics of the tourist guide, and vocative function is the focus in the translation of this part for the people’s motivation of touring activity. However, the translation of the additive part should take the expressiveness as the first principle in translation to ensure the understandings of foreigners. This thesis will also briefly study the translation of different styles of tourist items such as the natural scenery spots, the experiential tourist activity and the transportation or facilities provided by tourist destination.

摘 要
在旅游中，旅游指南是中国与世界沟通的1个有效渠道，它被用于向旅游者介绍旅游项目的1些信息，如历史，环境，背景及交通情况等。这些信息为旅游项目和旅游者之间提供了1座桥梁。尤其是对不熟悉本国文化的外国旅游者而言，仅通过旅游指南来熟悉旅游项目似乎更为重要。本文将分别阐述旅游指南的翻译特点。旅游指南主体部分的翻译首先要忠实于原文，这样能够保存旅游指南的文化特性，并且，为了使人们产生旅游动机，召唤作用在主体部分的翻译中处于核心的位置，与此不同的是，旅游指南附加部分的翻译应当保证外国人的理解而将表达方式作为首要原则。本文将浅论不同类型旅游项目的旅游指南的'翻译，例如自然景点的翻译，体验式旅游活动的翻译，交通的翻译，以及旅游目的地所提供的设施的翻译。
