并列句是考研英语中众多句型的之一，所谓并列句是指两个或两个以上的简单句通过并列连词连在一起构成的句子，称为并列句，其基本结构是“简单句+并列连词+简单句”。
并列连词有：以and表示并列递进关系的并列连词，以but表示转折关系的并列连词，以or为代表的表示选择关系的并列连词，以so为代表的表示因果关系的并列连词等。
并列句中的各简单句意义、定位和重要性相同，不分高低先后，相互之间没有从属关系，是平行并列的关系，因此叫并列句。他们之间用连词连接。
